- Tama Tonga arbeitet bereits seit Monaten ohne Vertrag für New Japan Pro Wrestling. Anfang des Jahres machte die Runde, dass WWE Interesse an einer Verpflichtung des 40-Jährigen hat und laut Fightful Select war der Kontakt bereits so konkret, dass das Creative Team des Marktführers bereits erste Ideen für sein Debüt diskutierte. Eine Verpflichtung kam aber bisher nicht zustande, da bei WWE ein Einstellungsstopp ausgerufen wurde. Es heißt, dass WWE den Kontakt zu Tonga mittlerweile einschlafen ließ, auch wenn man grundsätzlich weiter Interesse hat. Derzeit ist unklar, wo die Zukunft des Adoptivsohns von Wrestlinglegende Haku liegt. Bei "Wrestling Dontaku 2023" verlor er die NEVER Openweight Championship an David Finlay.
- Am 04. Juni steht mit "DOMINION IN OSAKA-JO HALL" eine der größten Shows von New Japan des Jahres auf dem Programm. Für die Show wurden nun die ersten fünf Matches bekannt gegeben. Im Main Event verteidigt IWGP Heavyweight Championship SANADA gegen Rückkehrer Yota Tsuji. Der 29-Jährige war bei "Wrestling Dontaku 2023" am 03. Mai von seiner Exkursion zurückgekehrt, die ihn in den letzten beiden Jahren unter anderem zu CMLL in Mexiko und RevPro in England geführt hatte.
